Beyond Limitations: A Nurse’s Journey with the Triad Method

How the Triad Method Helped Me Rediscover My Passion for Nursing and Life Coaching

Hello to all the dedicated nurses and life enthusiasts out there,

I’m writing today to share a significant moment in my career and personal journey—one that I believe could offer valuable insights, especially for those of us over 50 who are navigating the complexities of nursing alongside personal health challenges.

Facing My Physical Challenge

For me, the ongoing struggle with lymphedema in my arm became a daunting hurdle. The condition, worsened by computer work and the joyful moments spent holding my grandson, left me in pain and wondering if it was time to step away from the nursing profession I love.

Many of you might understand this dilemma—the fear that our physical limitations could sideline us from our calling in nursing. It’s a challenging position to be in, particularly when it’s intertwined with your passion and purpose.

Discovering the Triad Method

Today, however, everything changed. Inspired by Tony Robbins’ Ultimate Edge course, I applied the Triad Method—a three-pronged approach that involves Physiology, Focus, and Language.

  1. Physiology: By making simple changes to my posture and breathing practices, I found immediate relief. These physical adjustments rejuvenated my energy and reduced the pain significantly.
  2. Focus: Redirecting my focus from the pain to moments of gratitude transformed my entire day. I concentrated on the joyful interaction with my grandson and the rewarding aspects of my work as a life coach for nurses over 50.
  3. Language: The words we speak to ourselves matter. I replaced negative self-talk with affirmations such as “I am in control of my life.” This helped me build a strong, encouraging mental framework.

Redefining My Path

These simple yet profound shifts reignited my passion for nursing and for coaching others. I realized that my journey as a life coach could benefit those experiencing similar challenges, guiding them to find balance, resilience, and fulfillment.

Empowering Nurses Over 50

As a life coach, my goal is to empower nurses to embrace alternative career paths within nursing that align with their health and personal goals. Whether it’s moving into administrative roles, consulting, or other areas of healthcare, we can redefine what it means to be an effective, impactful nurse in the modern world.

Through this journey, I am reminded that change is always possible. For those reading this who may feel isolated by their struggles, know that you are not alone. Together, we can stretch beyond our physical limitations to find new horizons in our professional lives.

Thank you to Tony Robbins for providing the tools and inspiration to make today a turning point. I look forward to continuing this path of empowerment and sharing what I learn with all of you.

With hope and courage,

Maria
