We’re halfway through the first month of the new year, and it’s a perfect moment to reflect on what we’re focusing on to ensure a successful year in the world of long-term care and skilled nursing.
Are you prioritizing staffing?
Is your focus on Quality Measures?
Is Reimbursement at the forefront?
Or maybe Survey preparations?
These are all essential focus areas. However, let’s not overlook a critical factor—investing in our staff’s education. Achieving positive outcomes in these areas can be challenging without a well-informed team.
With over 36 years of experience as a nurse, I’m passionate about giving back to the career path that has blessed me—long-term care in nursing homes. My motivation has always been clear: to serve the generation that contributed immensely to our present freedoms. They are the doers, thinkers, and pioneers, bridging an era from ice deliveries to refrigerators, from monochrome screens to color televisions.
Raised in a family of seven children with a stay-at-home mom, I treasure those memories of hard-working determination that paved the way to modern conveniences. This drives my commitment to providing our elders with the best possible care in their life’s later chapters.
How do I achieve this? By investing in the incredible staff that dedicates themselves to caring for this special generation. I emphasize gratitude, offer education, and strive to keep my fellow nurses updated on the latest regulations and best practices. My mission is to cut through the noise and ensure that the staff receives the necessary education—whether through personal coaching to inspire a positive mindset or career counseling to boost their confidence and skills. I assist the facilities I consult for in identifying community needs, promoting positive outcomes for both our residents and the staff.
Join me on this mission to elevate the care of a generation we owe so much to. Let’s remain focused on achieving the best outcomes for them. Connect with me on LinkedIn to collaborate and make a meaningful impact together!
